Goldyn’s Favorite Fall Trends

Though summer is still here, Fall has landed in the fashion world. Designers showed the season’s collections on the runways during Fall 2011 Fashion Week, with noteworthy trends ranging from polka dots to jewel tones to mod 60s swing.  We at Goldyn thought a cheat sheet for our “must-have” pieces this season would help filter through all of Fall’s many offerings.

1. Color-blocking is not really a new thing in fashion. We see this trend come and go from season to season; but this Fall it is definitely stronger and bolder. One of our top picks is See By Chloe color block button down blouse, styled here with a gathered skirt for a preppy, sassy look.

2. Chic, minimalist sportswear again proves to us that less is more this season, and oh, we can definitely see the influence of menswear in this trend. Like these See By Chloe slouchy drawstring jogging pants – a fashion-forward take on a traditional trouser. Dress them up or down for a busy day at work or perfect night out.

3. Graphic Art.

Designers showed their arty side via crazy prints of mixed electric flocks of color for a graphic, can’t-take-your-eyes-off-it look. Helmut Lang’s long carrion print tank will definitely add rock-n-roll grunge to any outfit.

4. Tux Love

One of the hottest trends this season is going to be “borrowed-from-the-boys” tuxedos. Chic and powerful, sleek and sexy – Helmut Lang smoking wool blazer – is an understated, fashion-forward way to express yourself this season.

5. Bright Colors.

It’s pretty clear that bright colors are not going anywhere, instead spilling into the fall, where the summer’s neons will give way into jewel tones. Why not think color when it’s grey and bloomy outside? These fun and flattering J Brand skinnies in bright red will surely add a pop of color to any fall outfit.
